Office sales meetings, MLS meetings, tours, taking a listing, selling a house, open house, education, follow-up work on a transaction - all part of a busy real estate professional's life, right? Right!

I often get calls from prospective clients who apologetically tell me that they know they need to keep up their listings, their marketing, their website, search engine optimization and their blog. They either don't have the time, knowledge or inclination. The truth is that they really don't need to do any of it. A Certified Real Estate Support Specialist can assist you with the administrative business of your business.

What is it that you don't have time to do? What projects do you keep putting off because you just don't like doing them? Let us lighten your load a little. Some progress is better than no progress. Those professionals who keep up with the marketing trends are the ones who are going to build a business that will continue to sustain them even during the lean times.

We, at Second Self Virtual Assistance, are constantly attending Webinars about new products and services for Realtors. There's a ton of them out there. Some are worth a second look - some really aren't. If you have an interesting product or service you are contemplating, just let me know. I'd love to check it out. Take a look (more...)

Blogging! I've touched on this before and feel it's important enough to talk about again. Social networking is a large part of search engine optimization and Blogging is another way to network and set yourself up as the authority on a particular subject.

The best news is that you don't even have to write the articles yourself! Here's a little secret just between you and I - we have a great team of "ghostwriters" who are ready, willing and able to create Blog articles for you. Another secret - many of our clients are already using our ghostwriting service for their own Blogs. Aren't they smart?

If you want to take advantage of our Blog program, just let me know. I'll get you set up in a flash!

Please take a minute to read my latest post on, whatelse, my Blog.

blankApril is Stress Awareness Month

Stress is present in everyone’s life. For the ninth consecutive year, April has been designated Stress Awareness Month. Did you know that up to 60 percent of all visits to family physicians are stress related? And approximately 40 percent of employee turnover is related to stress. On an individual level, unmanaged stress is related to an increased risk of cancer, lung disease, heart disease, and suicide.

- Include exercise in your day, even if it is just a walk around the neighborhood. Exercise helps to dispel excess stress hormones from your body and boasts your energy level. Make sure you get enough sleep, at least seven to eight hours a night. Eat a healthy diet, limit alcohol and caffeine, and drink enough water each day.

- Make sure that you take time for yourself each day. Leave time in your schedule for activities that you enjoy.

- Identify those things that are particular stressors for you. Above all, be flexible in dealing with those things that are challenging in life.

- Remember that no one is perfect. Learn to set priorities in your life and focus on completing them as well as you can.

- If you feel that the stress in your life is more than you can handle, there is help available. Seek the advice of a medical professional, mental health therapist, or a clergy member to explore all of your options.

- Call your Second Self Virtual Assistant!
